Does your dog get overly excited when seeing other dogs? Try staying at a distance and sprinkling a few of their favourite treats on the ground. This helps redirect their focus and encourages sniffing, which naturally calms most dogs.
1 Idea - on the leading edge
Another way to encourage calmness is to find a quiet spot on your walk, far enough from activity that your dog doesn’t feel the need to interact. Simply sit or stand together and observe. Practising calm observation helps your dog relax, take in the world, and feel more secure.
