1 Tip - on life with your dog

As the seasons shift and less-than-ideal walking conditions roll in (think rain and wind), it's easy for your dog's outdoor time to take a hit. But don't worry; you can still provide a physical and mental outlet at home. Try turning mealtime into a 'Food Fight' – an easy activity you can play for as long as you like.

Using a handful of your dog's food; 'animate' each piece

Toss one piece for them to catch,

Bowl the next along the floor for them to chase

Bowl another in the opposite direction.

Toss another between your legs, then move away from them calling their name and reward them with a few pieces when they follow you.

It's a great way to burn energy and strengthen your bond.

1 Idea - on the leading edge

Your dog is ALWAYS learning.

Any behaviour that feels rewarding will increase, both what you want and don’t want.

Any behaviour that feels uncomfortable will decrease, both what you want and don’t want.

Some behaviours that are ignored will fade away. But not barking at the courier, it’s rewarding as the postman always leaves.

Attention seeking can be ignored and must be consistently applied.

Practice doesn’t always make perfect..if you are practicing incorrectly.

Keep this in mind as you interact with your dog.
