On offering choice

1 Tip - on life with your dog
Dogs thrive when they have some control over their day. We dictate their routines: food, toilet breaks, walks.
By offering choices, you can boost your dog's well-being.
Here's how:
Access: If feasible, provide free access to the house or outside with an open door, or better yet, a dog door.
Food: Lay out a selection of treats and see which they choose first. Or offer different food options and observe their preference.
Exploration: On walks let them lead, ask "Which way?" or simply follow their chosen path.
Making simple changes like these will result in a more engaged and confident dog.
1 Idea - on the leading edge
Enrichment means meeting the innate needs of your dog by providing opportunities to engage in natural behaviours, like sniffing, chewing, foraging, and chasing. Their interest tells you it's working.
