Try using a longer lead, 2-3 meters, when you walk your dog. They'll be able to investigate smells and interesting things without pulling you around. Yes, I know we want them to walk right beside us, but that's no fun for your dog, and aren't your walks half for them?

1 Idea - on the leading edge

Here are four great reasons to walk with your dog:

1.Having a dog encourages you to get outside into nature
2. It's easy to develop casual friendships, since you'll see the same people and their dogs at similar times and places
3. It's great exercise
4. Walking with your dog creates natural conversation starters
