1 Tip - on life with your dog
Sometimes a dog and the home it lives in are not a match. There are lots of reasons, and mostly no one is to blame. Perhaps the exercise needs of the dog can't be provided by the guardian, behaviours may have escalated to a level that's unsafe for the dog, family or the public or for many other reasons.
1 Idea - on the leading edge
What can you do? Where do you start? Contact your vet in the first instance; they can rule out pain or other medical issues your dog may be facing. Next, talk to a qualified trainer or behaviourist; many behaviour issues can be improved with the right help. If rehoming is the right call, start with your own friend group, someone you know may be able to help, or a dedicated rehoming page on Facebook. Ask for a small rehoming fee and a few screening questions, this discourages flippers or dog-fighting rings. Try to avoid rescues that are already overstrained unless they can provide proof of the ability to care for your dog. Remember to transfer the registration details with the council.
However you get there, this is rarely an easy decision, be kind to yourself.
